You have probably heard of Coinbase. It was one of the original Crypto Exchanges allowing for purchase of many Crypto assets. They have grown over the years and they are now listed on the New Stock Exchange and regulated by the SEC. They have worked to improve customer service and UI capabilities and offer a wider range of services. Be advised the Crypto listed for sales is often a different price than actual cost and that creates a spread or cost to the purchasers. A person can compare listed prices to what is listed on Coin Market Cap to see possible spread cost and other listed fees. Coinbase is know for high security and is a custodian for many larger institutions. They are an OG in the space.

As Crypto users gain experience they sometimes want to move their Crypto off of exchanges and into cold storage device know as "Hard Wallets". This increases security as long as the user follows procedures. "Ledger" is a French based company that has offered "Hard Wallets" options for many years. The old term "not your keys, not your crypto" highlights that people should not store large quantities of crypto on exchanges in case these sites are compromised. Ledger offers simple alternatives. Bad actors have resold wallets with backdoor access and people can lose assets if they purchase a resold wallet.
